In this article we have analyzed the conflict raised in the Almeria rear after the arrival of the refugees from Malaga in February 1937, a human tragedy that caused a political confrontation. And we have done it with the hypothesis that this drama evidenced two models of directing the institutions in the republican zone, in the context of the war/revolution debate: the one lived in the capital of Malaga since the failure of the insurrection, and the one that already existed in Almería at the end of 1936. Thus, we consider that in the province of Almería there was a direct antecedent of the events of May in Barcelona.
