Resumen de El Montejurra de la legalidad. El acto carlista de 1978

Los actos de Montejurra, inicialmente concebidos para recordar a los requetés muertos en la última contienda civil, se convirtieron durante el franquismo en el acto principal del carlismo. Fueron, durante esos años, los únicos actos políticos multitudinarios organizados al margen de la Iglesia y la dictadura. En 1976 sufrieron un ataque de la extrema derecha y en 1977 fueron prohibidos. Iniciada la nueva democracia, tuvo lugar la celebración del acto de Montejurra de 1978, en la que se pudo celebrar de manera legal tanto el acto religioso como el acto político, con el Partido Carlista legalizado y Carlos Hugo de Borbón-Parma, su líder, presente en nuestro país sin impedimentos. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la organización y desarrollo de estos actos de Montejurra de 1978, en el contexto del Partido Carlista, que en 1977 celebró el IV Congreso y se encontraba en una época de reorganización, pero también de crisis, entre el fracaso electoral de 1977 y el próximo de 1979

The Montejurra Rally, initially held to commemorate the requetés(Carlist militia) killed in the final battle of the civil war, became during the Franco regime the principal act of Carlism. During this time they were the only mass political events held that were not organized by the Church or the dictatorship. In 1976 the attendees were attacked by the extreme right, and in 1977 the event was banned. However, once the new democracy began, the Montejurra Rally was reinstated and in 1978 both the religious ceremony and the political ceremony were authorized to take placefollowing the legalization of the Carlist Party and permission being granted to Carlos Hugo Borbón-Parma, its leader, to enter Spain freely. The objective of this article is to analyse the organization and staging of these two acts at Montejurra in 1978 within the context of a Carlist Party that had held its IV Congress in 1977 and was in a period of not only reorganization but of crisis as a result of its failure in the 1977 elections and prior to those of 1979.
