    El artículo contextualiza históricamente y describe el surgimiento de las incubadoras tecnológicas de cooperativas populares (ITCPs) en las universidades brasileñas y de la Red de ITCPs (Red) que se creó a mediados de los años 1990; indica los rasgos fundamentales del trabajo de las incubadoras y los principios y debates teórico-metodológicos que acompañan estas acciones; analiza las formas de financiación y funcionamiento del programa gubernamental que constituye su principal fuente de recursos; finalmente examina los retos, las oportunidades y amenazas enfrentadas actualmente por las incubadoras, pasados más de diez años de fundación de la RedAbstractThe article historically defines the creation of the technological incubators of popular co-operatives (ITCPs); it describes the emergence of these incubators in Brazilian universities and of the ITCPs Network (Red) created in the mid nineties; it indicates the main incubators’ functioning features and the theoretical and methodological principles and debates which appeared alongside; it analyses the sources of funding and the governmental programme which constitutes its main resource; it finally examines the challenges, opportunities and threats the incubators are facing at the moment, after ten years of the Network’s existence.
