The Portuguese revolution of the years 1974-1975 had an impact in neighbouring Spain at the political and institutional levels, on the Trades Unions, the Catholic Church and the Armed Forces. In this article we intend to study these influences in the PSOE, Partido Socialista Obrero Español, through the analysis of El Socialista, the official newspaper of the PSOE. PSOE will play an essential role in the talks leading to the Moncloa Pacts, the making and passing of a new Constitutional Act and the consolidation of Spain as a Western style democracy. We’ll analyse, through the El Socialista, how part of the illegalized Spanish left understood and reacted to the events taking place in Portugal between the coup that overthrew the Salazar and Caetano regime on 25 April 1974 and the end of the revolutionary crisis on 25 November 1975.

La révolution portugaise des années 1974-1975 a eu une influence en Espagne, au niveau politique et institutionnel, notamment sur le mouvement syndical, l’Eglise catholique et les forces armées. Cet article étudie ces influences au sein du PSOE, Partido Socialista Obrero Español, à travers l’analyse d’El Socialista, le journal officiel du PSOE. Le PSOE joua un rôle essentiel dans les négociations menant au pacte de la Moncloa, ainsi que dans l’élaboration et l’adoption d’une nouvelle constitution et la consolidation de l’Espagne comme démocratie de style occidental. On analyse ici la réaction d’une partie de la gauche espagnole aux événements qui se déroulèrent au Portugal, entre le coup d’Etat qui a renversé le régime de Salazar et Caetano le 25 avril 1974 et la fin de la crise révolutionnaire, le 25 Novembre 1975.

A revolução portuguesa de 1974-1975 teve impacto na vizinha Espanha a nível político e institucional, nomeadamente no movimento sindical, na Igreja Católica e nas Forças Armadas. Neste artigo estuda-se esta influência no Partido Socialista Obrero de España, através da análise do seu jornal clandestino, El Socialista. O PSOE teve um papel essencial na negociação que levou aos Pactos da Moncloa, na discussão e aprovação da Constituição de 1978 e na consolidação da Espanha como uma democracia. Aqui analisa-se a forma como compreendeu e reagiu aos acontecimentos ocorridos em Portugal entre Abril de 1974 e o fim da crise revolucionária a 25 de Novembro de 1975.
