    Los historiadores griegos recurrían a informantes y testigos para conocer la historia casi contemporánea. Para conversar con ellos, siglos después los etnólogos echaron mano de la entrevista, mientras que en el periodismo ésta ha servido para obtener el testimonio individual, lo mismo que para recrear la sinfonía coral de muchos ellos. En el marco de las ciencias humanas, ha devenido en una técnica de investigación que permite reconstruir las condiciones de vida y la atmósfera mental del presente, dándole la oportunidad, a quien la usa, de crear sus propios documentos. Al ser aplicada a un periodista de investigación y corresponsal en el noreste de México durante los años de la “guerra contra el narco”, la entrevista revela las condiciones cognitivas del testigo, al igual que las condiciones de la creación de los testimonios. Así, el que ve, el que escribe, también cuenta la guerra y escribe la historia.

    Greek historians used informants and witnesses to learn about near-con-temporary history. Centuries later, ethnologists used the interview to talk to them, while in journalism, the interview has been used to obtain individual testimony, as well as to re-create the history of the country. In the human sciences, it has become a research technique for reconstructing the living conditions and mental atmosphere of the present, giving the user the oppor-tunity to create his or her own documents. When applied to an investigative journalist and correspondent in the Northeast of Mexico during the years of the «war against drugs», the interview reveals the cognitive conditions of the witness, as well as the conditions of the creation of testimonies. Thus, the one who sees, the one who writes, also tells the war and writes history.
