    En la última década, la sólida sistematización teórica, conceptual y metodológica desarrollada por el PRESEEA_ATENUACIÓN, favoreció el incremento del estudio variacionista de la atenuación como fenómeno sociopragmático. Actualmente, existen investigaciones con alto rigor científico sobre el funcionamiento de la atenuación en varias comunidades de habla hispanas. Sin embargo, en Cuba, el examen de la atenuación es prácticamente nulo, se ha avanzado muy poco en el conocimiento de su uso en el habla de este país caribeño. Por ello, se realiza este estudio con la pretensión de caracterizar sociopragmáticamente el uso de la atenuación en el corpus PRESEEA-La Habana.

    In the last decade, the solid theoretical, conceptual, and methodological systematization developed by the PRESEEA_ATTENUATION, stimulate the increase of the variationist study of attenuation as a sociopragmatic phenomenon. Currently, there is research with high scientific rigor on the operation of attenuation in various Spanish-speaking communities. However, in Cuba, the examination of the attenuation is practically nil, very little progress has been made in the knowledge of its use in the speech of this Caribbean country. For this reason, this study is carried out with the aim of sociopragmatically characterizing the use of attenuation in the PRESEEA - Havana corpus.
