    Cette contribution porte sur les deux premiers ouvrages hydrauliques de l’histoire de Rome : la Cloaca Maxima et l’emissarium albanum. Elle confronte le texte de Tite-Live, et par delà l’ensemble de la tradition, aux apports de la recherche la plus récente. Ces données nouvelles donnent à penser que la tradition n’est pas en contradiction avec l’état actuel de nos connaissaices

    This paper deals with the first two hydraulic works in the history of Rome, the Cloaca Maxima and the emissarium albanum. It confronts Livius' text, and beyond the whole of tradition, with the contributions of the most recent research. These new data suggest that tradition is not in contradiction with the current state of our knomlledge.
