    La cepa Gros Colman es una cepa tinta, originaria de Georgia, de la antigua Unión Soviética. En la región de Tarapacá data de mediados del siglo XX, y se cultiva en la Pampa del Tamarugal, el desierto más árido del mundo. Retoma importancia, como parte del rescate de cepas antiguas en la región, efectuado en el año 2003, en el cual, mediante análisis molecular, logró ser identificada, y es una de las cepas que están bajo la denominación de Vino del Desierto. Se cultiva en espaldera, a 960 msnm, cuya vinificación se realiza en cubas de acero inoxidable. Da origen a un vino tinto, con características distintivas e identitarias, de la región de Tarapacá. Posee calidad comercial, lo que lo ha hecho merecedor de reconocimiento nacional. Fue catalogado como Súper Premium, en el Concurso Guía Mesa de Cata, La CAV 2020, y figura entre los mejores vinos de Chile del 2020. Constituye una alternativa productiva, como vino de nicho, del desierto más árido del mundo.

    The Gros Colman variety is a red wine, originally from Georgia, from the former Soviet Union. In the Tarapacá region, it dates from the middle of the 20th century, being cultivated in the Pampa del Tamarugal, the driest desert in the world. It regains importance, as part of the rescue of ancient varieties in the region, carried out in 2003, in which, through molecular analysis, it was identified, being one of the variety, which are under the name of “Desert Wine”. It is grown on a trellis, at 960 meter above sea level. whose vinification is carried out in stainless steel vats. It gives rise to a red wine, with distinctive and identifying characteristics, for the Tarapacá region. It has commercial quality, which has made it worthy of national recognition, cataloged as Super Premium, in Tasting Table Guide Contest, La CAV 2020, being among the best wines of Chile of 2020. It constitutes a productive alternative, as wine from niche, the driest desert in the world.
