  "Terra Sigillata" is a description of a special ancient pottery, in English better known as "samian ware". The present text considers especially the samian ware, excavated in Carnuntum (Bad Deutsch-Altenburg and Petronell, Lower Austria) and its origin. The red glossy table-ware was used in the time of the Roman principat and dominat (from AD through to the fifth century).

  "Terra Sigillata" beschreibt die Herstellung sowie den Vertrieb der antiken Keramik und berücksichtigt speziell die bei Grabungen in Carnuntum entdeckten Sigillatafunde sowie deren Herkunft. Verwendet wurde das Geschirr während des römischen principats und dominats (vom 1. bis zum 5. Jh. n. Chr.).
