Il ms. Clm 14011 della Bayerische Staatsbibliothek di Monaco: coesistenze stilistiche e scelte illustrative in un codice giuridico realizzato a Genova alla fine del Duecento

    This article presents the results of a close investigation on the manuscript Clm 14011 preserved in the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek of München. The manuscript was produced in Genoa at end of the XIII century and contains the Decretals of Gregory IX, the Collectio III of Innocent IV and the Constitutiones of Gregory X. The style of miniature and multicolored initials suggests the work of two different artists: the first, who painted the miniature at the beginning of each book, was deeply influenced by Paduan school; the second, who painted the initials, was a Genoese artist who followed the language of the so-called Master of ms. Lat. 42. Finally, the analysis of the iconography of each miniatures reveals how religious themes and details were reused in the illustrations of a legal manuscript.

     Questo articolo presenta i risultati di un’indagine condotta sul ms. Clm 14011 della Bayerische Staatsbibliothek di Monaco. Il manoscritto, databile alla fine del XIII secolo e riconducibile al contesto genovese, contiene le Decretales di Gregorio IX, la Collectio III di Innocenzo IV e le Constitutiones di Gregorio X. Lo studio dell’apparato illustrativo rivela l’intervento di almeno due miniatori di diversa formazione: il primo, responsabile delle tabelle miniate, è legato ai modi della scuola padovana; il secondo, che realizzò le iniziali decorate, mostra l’adesione al linguaggio della scuola gotica genovese, in particolare del Maestro del ms. Lat. 42. L’analisi delle scelte iconografiche permette infine di evidenziare come elementi stilistici e disegnativi propri dell’immaginario religioso vengano impiegati per introdurre i vari libri delle Decretales.
