La medalla conservada en el Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Lorca con el retrato de Michelangelo Buonarroti fue realizada a mediados del siglo XVI por Leone Leoni, un escultor italiano con gran reconocimiento por las clases altas de la época, amigo de Buonarroti. La medalla es de plata y tiene anverso y reverso diferentes, con leyenda en latín en ambos. La iconografía muestra un torso masculino adulto en el anverso y a un hombre maduro musculado con atributos de peregrino en el reverso. No es ejemplar único, otras medallas similares se encuentran en otros museos.

The medal exhibited at the Archaeological Museum of Lorca with the portrait of Michelangelo Buonarroti was made in the mid-16th century by Leone Leoni, an Italian sculptor with great recognition by the upper classes of the time, a friend of Buonarroti. The medal is silver and has a different front and back, with a Latin legend on both. The iconography shows an adult male torso on the obverse and a muscular mature man with pilgrim attributes on the reverse. It is not unique, other similar medals are found in other museums.
