Cerebrovascular disease (CVA) or stroke is one of the most important problems of public health as it is the second leading cause of death worldwide according to WHO and the first permanent disability of sudden onset in patients over 65 years. It should always be considered functional recovery after stroke reflect the reparative processes in the area adjacent to peri ischemic damage. This is thought to occur early, perhaps in the first 3-4 weeks poststroke. Then it considered the repetitive training is a critical stimulus for new functional connections within the healthy brain tissue and remaining.
The begining of rehabilitation should be started as soon as the patient is clinically stable. The functional results depend on this early onset, of course considering the patient's tolerance to stress. We conclude that neuromuscular rehabilitation undertaken in early and interdisciplinary therapeutic instance is crucial for the patient affected by stroke, especially in the elderly.
