Resumen de El Jugendstil en las revistas literarias ilustradas modernistas

Las revistas modernistas Revista de América (Buenos Aires), Cosmópolis (Caracas) y Mundial (París), exigen una mirada atravesada por el jugendstil. La lectura que proponemos en este artículo, de estas revistas como artefactos, tendrá en cuenta la relación que guardan con este estilo de entresiglos y con otras revistas literarias y magazines, no necesariamente modernistas. Retrotraerse a la última década del siglo XIX puede mostrar la complejidad del tránsito de lo escrito a la ilustración en el que, a la par de la introducción de nuevas tecnologías, se modifican las formas de ver y pensar el arte cuando se trastocan las jerarquías entre los géneros literarios y los gráficos, y se relacionan las artes puras con las aplicadas.

The modernist magazines Revista de América (Buenos Aires), Cosmópolis (Caracas) and Mundial (Paris), demand a look crossed by jugendstil. The reading we propose in this article, of these magazines as artifacts, will take into account the relationship they have with this style of the intercentury and with other literary journals and magazines, not necessarily modernist. Going back to the last decade of the 19th century can show the complexity of the transition from writing to illustration in which, along with the introduction of new technologies, the ways of seeing and thinking about art are modified when the hierarchies between literary and graphic genres are disrupted, and the pure and applied arts are related to each other.
