El alhorí de trigo de Villaescusa de Haro es una de las construcciones que aparecen reseñadas desde antiguo en esta población, sin embargo, hasta ahora no se había concretado la fecha de su fundación y construcción. En el presente trabajo damos noticia del documento de donación firmado por el obispo Diego Ramírez de Villaescusa, en el cual se confirma la ordenación y erección del pósito durante el año 1524, constituyéndose, desde ese mismo momento, como institución benéfica a cargo del municipio.
La bibliografía sobre la regulación de estas instituciones en Castilla y la propia carta de donación nos permiten analizar el caso particular de este alhorí y la relación del donante con su localidad natal, convirtiéndose en uno de los ejemplos mejor documentados de este tipo de fundaciones particulares del primer tercio del siglo XVI.

The Villaescusa de Haro wheat alhorí is one of the constructions that have been reviewed since ancient times in this town, however, until now the date of its foundation and construction had not been specified. In the present work we give notice of the donation document signed by Bishop Diego Ramírez de Villaescusa, in which the ordination and erection of the pósito is confirmed during the year 1524, constituting, from that moment, as a charitable institution in charge of the municipality.
The bibliography on the regulation of these institutions in Castilla and the donation letter itself allow us to analyze the particular case of this alhorí and the relationship of the donor with his hometown, becoming one of the best documented examples of this type of private foundations from the first third of the 16th century.
