Resumen de Crowdsourcing: a ferramenta mais valiosa do século 21?

It's vital to change the paradigm that libraries and national archives have adopted, because it does not seempossible that they will be provided with more human resources to index, catalog, transcribe or summarize the thousandsof documents that enter monthly the national archives, joining those who are already there. Many documents online,presents a summary record, but has for some years the statement " draft description" showing that there was no time,even today, to make such a review, or quality control. The communication advocates an approach which address thischallenge and goes in line with what has begun to be adopted by other similar institutions in other countries, its means,the involvement of citizens in crowdsourcing, leaving the archivists and the librarians, time for other functions, includingcataloging, digitization and quality control.

É vital que se altere o paradigma que as bibliotecas e os arquivos nacionais tem adotado, pois não parecepossível que eles venham a ser dotados de mais técnicos para indexar, catalogar, transcrever, ou resumir os milharesde documentos que entram nos arquivos nacionais, mensalmente, juntando-se aos que lá já se encontram. Vemos,por exemplo, que muitos dos documentos on-line, apresentam uma ficha de resumo, mas tem desde há alguns anosa indicação “ descrição em fase de revisão”, mostrando que não houve tempo, até hoje, para fazer a tal revisão, oucontrole de qualidade.A abordagem que defende a comunicação para enfrentar este desafio vai na linha do que tem começado a seradotado por outras instituições semelhantes em outros países, i.e., o envolvimento dos cidadãos em crowdsourcing,deixando aos técnicos dos arquivos e
