Representaciones sociales sobre cuerpo y sus concepciones en una facultad de educación física, recreación y deporte

    El presente estudio busca determinar el contenido y estructura de las representaciones sociales sobre el cuerpo, analizándose las similitudes y diferencias. El estudio se centra en estudiantes y profesores en una Facultad de Educación Física, Recreación y Deporte de Medellín (Colombia). Se emplea un diseño mixto de investigación, incorporando elementos cuantitativos (descriptivos) y cualitativos (estudio de caso). Los resultados indican que las concepciones sobre cuerpo para los estudiantes y docentes dan cuenta de elementos referidos con el movimiento, la expresión corporal y el cuerpo como estructura. Estos componentes responden a disposiciones institucionales, y a la vez, mantienen una mirada mecánica e instrumental del cuerpo. Se concluye que las representaciones sociales establecidas sobre cuerpo se relacionan con categorías del saber disciplinar de la educación física, la recreación y el deporte y se vinculan con su proyección profesional.

    The present study aims to determine the content and structure of the social representations of the body while analyzing similarities and differences. The subject of study focused on students and teachers from a Faculty of Physical Education, Recreation, and Sports in Medellin (Colombia). The research design is mixed, incorporating quantitative (descriptive) and qualitative elements (case study). The results show that the conceptions of students and teachers about the body display elements related to movement, body expression, and the body as a structure. These components respond to institutional ideas that, at the same time, maintain a mechanical and instrumental view of the body. It is concluded that the established social representations of the body are related to categories of the disciplinary knowledge of physical education, recreation, and sports, and that they are linked to projections of the individual’s profession.
