Resumen de Aproximaciones al campo cultural oficial (Uruguay, 1975-1980) a partir de tres funcionarios de la dictadura

Los neoautoritarismos del Cono Sur de los años setenta se caracterizaron por un intento de construir cierto consenso social que los respaldara en sus reformas y les permitiera mantenerse en el poder. Ese consenso se consiguió a través de un proyecto (re)fundacional que afectaba varias áreas de la vida social, en particular la educación y la cultura. La propuesta cultural fue desarrollada por instituciones oficiales y organizaciones sociales afines, militares interventores y civiles funcionarios del gobierno de facto. Algunos de estos civiles eran intelectuales de trayectoria y muchos tenían un perfil conservador y de derecha. En el presente artículo abordaremos la construcción del campo cultural oficial de la última dictadura uruguaya durante su período fundacional (1975-1980), a través de la trayectoria de cuatro civiles intelectuales que fueron funcionarios del gobierno y estuvieron vinculados a la propuesta.

Neoauthoritarianisms in southern South America in the 1970s stood out for their at tempts to build social consent that supported their reforms and allowed them to retain power. That consent was achieved through a (re)foundational agenda that affected several areas regarding social life, specially education and culture. The cultural agenda was developed by official institutions and supporting social organizations, military controllers and civilian employees of the authoritarian government. Some of these civilians were intellectuals with long careers and many of them had a right wing conservative profile. In the present paper we will address the construction of the official cultural field by the last Uruguayan dictator-ship during its foundational period (1975-1980), following four civilian intellectuals who were employed by the government and were associated to its agenda.
