    Las coloraciones aberrantes en el color del plumaje se han relacionado con problemas congénitos y así como factores ambientales. Reportamos el primer registro de aberración marrón en el Tecolote llanero (Athene cunicularia), y el segundo caso de aberración canoso progresivo en el Tordo cabeza café (Molothrus ater) en México. Es necesario incrementar la investigación sobre las aberraciones de color en el plumaje para comprender las condiciones ambientales y biológicas que estimulan la expresión de este fenómeno.

    Aberrant colorations in plumage color have been linked to congenital problems as well as environmental factors. Here, we report the first record of brown aberration in the Burrowing Owl (Athene cunicularia), and the second case of progressive hoary aberration in the Brownheaded Cowbird (Molothrus ater) in Mexico. It is necessary to increase the research on color aberrations to understand the environmental and biological factors stimulating the expression of this phenomenon.
