Resumen de La invisibilidad histórica del alumnado sordo en el ámbito socio-educativo

A lo largo de la historia, la educación del alumnado sordo en España ha ido evolucionando y transformándose, aunque no siempre estos cambios han sido positivos. El presente trabajo pretende realizar,por un lado, un análisis exhaustivo de la evolución histórica de la educación del alumnado sordo, asícomo una valoración de los distintos métodos utilizados. Y por otro lado, demostrar, fehacientemente, la invisibilidad de las personas sordas en el ámbito social y educativo debido a la negación del uso dela lengua de signos española (LSE) como lengua vehicular para el acceso a la información.La metodología utilizada para la realización de este trabajo se basará en una revisión bibliográficade diferentes obras y artículos publicados, relacionados con la historia de la educación de las personas sordas en España y su influencia en otros países y continentes. Así mismo, se realizará una valoración de los distintos métodos utilizados para dicha labor, y cómo las distintas metodologías didácticas han influido, claramente, en los resultados académicos de las personas sordas y, por tanto, en su futura integración en la sociedad en igualdad de condiciones.Por último, se realizará una reflexión sobre la importancia de cómo ha influido el “uso” o “no uso” de la lengua de signos en el desarrollo educativo y social del alumnado sordo. Al mismo tiempo, seexpondrá la necesidad de una implicación inmediata y eficaz por parte de la administración y de launiversidad, para la puesta en marcha de investigaciones y estudios que avalen la lengua de signos como herramienta fundamental en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje del alumnado sordo.

Throughout history, the education of deaf students in Spain has been evolving and transforming, although these changes have not always been positive. On the one hand, this work intends to carryout an exhaustive analysis of the historical evolution of the education of the deaf students, as well as an evaluation of the different methods used. And, on the other hand, to demonstrate, clearly, theinvisibility of deaf people in the social and educational field due to the denial of the use of Spanishsign language (LSE) as a vehicle language for access to information.The methodology used to carry out this work will be based on a bibliographical review of differentpublished works and articles related to the history of education of the deaf in Spain and its influencein other countries and continents. Likewise, an assessment will be made of the different methods used for this work, and how the different didactic methodologies have clearly influenced the academic results of deaf people and, therefore, their future integration into society on an equal footing.Finally, a reflection will be made on the importance of how the “use” or “non-use” of sign languagehas influenced the educational and social development of deaf students. At the same time, the needfor an immediate and effective involvement by the administration and the university will be exposed,for the implementation of research and studies that endorse sign language as a fundamental tool inthe teaching and learning process of the Deaf students.
