Resumen de Heréticas à margem: os estabelecidos inquisidores e as bruxas outsiders

  This Article historically analyzes the heretics and the heresies, particularly the witchcraft persecuted by the Portuguese Inquisition in the Medieval Late Period and Modern Age. Many women were accused of deviant practices that tainted religious orthodoxy. Who determined these behaviors considered outsiders? What legitimizes the criminalization of a group accused of heterodox? Laws are conditioned by the time in which they were produced, and therefore the conflict between two worldviews, on the one hand, the erudite conception of jurists and theologians, which define situations and behaviors as “right” or “wrong”, and on the other, that of the popular culture of the superstitious people. In this encounter, the sorceresses had no chance of getting away unharmed. Were the witches punished by the tribunals of the Holy Office women who did not fit into the normative society imposed by the Church and the State? Have they lived on the fringes of social conventions and determined their own style of life through their beliefs and values? Were witches proscribed outsiders?

  O presente artigo analisa historicamente os hereges e as heresias, particularmente a feitiçaria perseguida pela Inquisição portuguesa no período Tardo Medieval e Idade Moderna. Muitas mulheres foram acusadas de práticas desviantes que maculavam a ortodoxia religiosa. Quem determinava estas condutas consideradas fora da lei? O que legitima a criminalização de um grupo acusado de heterodoxo? As leis são filhas do tempo no qual foram produzidas e, portanto, é inequívoco o embate entre duas visões de mundo, de um lado, a concepção erudita dos juristas e teólogos os quais definem situações e comportamentos como “certos” ou “errados”; e do outro, a da cultura popular do povo supersticioso. Neste embate, as feiticeiras não tinham a mínima chance de saírem ilesas. As bruxas acuadas e punidas pelos tribunais do Santo Ofício eram mulheres que não se enquadravam na sociedade normativa imposta pela Igreja e pelo Estado? Viveram elas à margem das convenções sociais e determinaram ao seu bel prazer o próprio estilo de vida através de suas crenças e valores? Seriam as feiticeiras proscritas outsiders?
