Para que haya Desamortización, antes debe haber Amortización. Este es el doble proceso que hemos podido documentar en Algeciras en el siglo XVIII.
La Amortización de bienes materiales, con destinos espirituales, se produjo a mediados del siglo y su Desamortización a finales del mismo. En esta comunicación sólo podemos documentar su inicio y los primeros efectos que tuvo sobre parte de la propiedad amortizada en Algeciras.

For there to be Disentailment, there must first be Amortisation. This is the double process that we have been able to document in Algeciras in the 18th century.
The Amortisation of material goods, with spiritual destinations, took place in the middle of the century and its Disentailment at the end of it. In this paper we can only document its beginning and the first effects it had on part of the amortised property in Algeciras.
