El trabajo en el quirófano requiere un equipo multidisciplinar de profesionales que deben estar coordinados a la perfección para que la intervención se realice correctamente y la atención global que recibe el paciente sea la más adecuada.
El TCAE forma parte del equipo quirúrgico, junto con la anestesista, cirujano/a, enfermero/a y personal no sanitario. El papel del TCAE de quirófano es vital, ya que debe desempeñar varias funciones antes de la operación, durante y tras la operación. También se desempeña en las funciones de limpieza, reposición, colocación del material e instrumental quirúrgico.

Working in the operating room requires a multidisciplinary team, the interaction of multiple professionals who must be perfectly coordinated so that the intervention is carried out correctly and the overall care that the patient receives is the most appropriate.
The TCAE is part of the surgical team, together with the anesthetist, surgeon, nurse and non-health personnel. The role of the TCAE in the operating room is vital, since it must perform several functions before the operation, during and after the operation. It also performs the functions of cleaning, replacement, placement of material and surgical instruments.
