    El presente artículo tiene como objetivo fundamental determinar el estado actual del capital intelectual en la Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí (ULEAM), de forma tal que se tenga información real de cómo se gestiona el capital intelectual en la institución para enfrentar los retos de la sociedad actual, la sociedad del conocimiento; para ello se hizo un estudio del estado del arte mediante la revisión de la literatura, se evaluó la gestión del capital intelectual en la ULEAM, a través de indicadores de capital intelectual, y se determinaron los activos del conocimiento con los que se cuenta. Se aborda, además, las cuestiones teóricas que sustentan el planteamiento, se hace un breve repaso por la gestión del conocimiento, el capital intelectual y sus tres dimensiones (capital humano, capital estructural, capital relacional). Se describe la metodología desarrollada, de tipo descriptiva permitiendo aplicar un conjunto de métodos y procedimientos científicos para recolectar la información, el estudio concluye mostrando los principales resultados encontrados investigación.

    The main objective of this article is to determine the current state of intellectual capital at the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí (ULEAM), in such a way that there is real information on how intellectual capital is managed in the institution to face the challenges of current society, the knowledge society; For this, a study of the state of the art was carried out through a review of the literature, the management of intellectual capital in ULEAM was evaluated, through indicators of intellectual capital, and knowledge assets were determined. with which it is counted. In addition, the theoretical issues that support the approach are addressed, a brief review is made of knowledge management, intellectual capital and its three dimensions (human capital, structural capital, relational capital). The methodology developed is described, of a descriptive type allowing the application of a set of scientific methods and procedures to collect information, the study concludes by showing the main results found in the investigation.
