En los últimos tiempos se ha experimentado un gran avance en todos los campos sanitarios, y la fisioterapia pediátrica no ha sido una excepción. Los recientes estudios han mostrado nuevas perspectivas de tratamiento que aportan un éxito mayor en el abordaje de las diferentes patologías que afectan a los niños y adolescentes. Los fisioterapeutas debemos estar al corriente de todas estas actualizaciones de conocimientos, para así, poder posteriormente aplicarlo en beneficio del paciente. La fisioterapia pediátrica tiene la peculiaridad de que tratamos a un paciente en pleno desarrollo, por ello, es importante aprovechar el tiempo al máximo ya que este juega en nuestra contra. La mayoría de las patologías pediátricas precisan un tratamiento precoz, ya que de ello depende su posterior evolución y sus posibles secuelas de no establecerse un diagnóstico preciso. La fisioterapia pediátrica incluye un amplio abanico de intervenciones que en muchos casos hay que combinar según las necesidades o patologías de cada niño pero siempre deben ser realizadas por un fisioterapeuta especializado en pediatría. Esta publicación tiene como propósito revisar las principales patologías del sistema muscular en pediátrica y su tratamiento fisioterápico en base a los resultados más recientes.

In recent times there has been a great advance in all health fields, and pediatric physiotheraphy has not been an exception. Recent studies have shown new treatment perspectives that provide greater success in addressing the different pathologies that affect children and adolescents. Physiotherapist must be aware of all these knowledge updates, so that we can later apply it to the benefit of the patient. Pediatric physiotherapy has the peculiarity that we treat a patient in full development, for this reason it is important to make the most of the time since it plays against us. Most pediatric pathologies require early treatment, since their subsequent evolution and possible sequelae of not establishing a precise diagnosis depend on it. Pediatric physiotherapy includes a wide range or interventions that in many cases must be combined according to the needs or pathologies of each child, but must always be performed by a physiotherapist specialized in pediatrics. The purpose of this publication is to review the main pathologies of the muscular system in pediatrics and their physiotherapeutic treatment based on the most recent results.
