L’humor en la LIJ i la seua traducció. Estudi de cas: The Adventures ofCaptain Underpants i la seua traducció al castellà i el català

    Al present treball comencem aportant algunes dades que demostren la gran importància de la traducció al mercat de la LIJ al nostre país. Posteriorment expliquem com en diferents períodes històricss’han traduït uns gèneres o fins i tot obres concretes i no d’altres que no s’ajustaven als canons delpolisistema de recepció. A continuació fem un breu repàs per les principals aportacions de la traductologia al camp de la traducció de LIJ. Per a concloure analitzem un número de la saga del CapitàCalçotets, més concretament el primer, titulat The Adventures of Captain Underpants al castellà i alcatalà, extraent-ne els elements que causen un efecte humorístic al original i comentant les opcionsproposades per ambdós traductors.

    In this paper we start by providing some data evidencing the great importance of translation in thepublishing sector of children and young adults’ literature in our country. Subsequently we explainhow in different historical periods some genres or even some specific literary works have been translated and not others, which did not abide by the canons of the target polisystem. Following we brieflyreview the main contributions of Translation Studies to the field of translation of children and youngadults’ literature. We end up by analyzing the first book of the saga of Captain Underpants, entitledThe Adventures of Captain Underpants into Spanish and Catalan, extracting those elements causing ahumorous effect in the original and commenting on the options proposed by both translators.
