    Enchantment, magic and supernatural beings are elements that permeate the collective memory of the indigenous Potiguara people since the time of their ancestors, and to this day are present in the narratives reported by the old trunks throughout the territory. Thinking like this, based on Federal Law No. 11,645, of March 10, 2008, which regulates the teaching of indigenous and Afrodescendant culture in elementary schools, this work seeks to promote the research, knowledge and reading and writing of Potiguara indigenous narratives of the Paraíba, with sutdents of the Education of Young and Adults - EJA of the Indigenous Isaura Soares de Lima State School, located in the village of Jacaré de César. This work is based on the theoretical considerations found in Cardoso and Guimarães (2012), Cascudo (2006), Brandão (1993), and as methodological supported for the work of Cosson (2014) among others. As a result, this work contribute to the knowledge of the history, culture and literature of oral tradition of the Potiguara people, also this work was able to develop reading and writing of the students with the activities performed.

    O encantamento, a magia e os seres sobrenaturais são elementos que permeiam a memória coletiva do povo indígena Potiguara desde o tempo dos antepassados, e até hoje são presentes nas narrativas relatadas pelos troncos velhos em todo o território. Pensando assim, amparando-se na Lei Federal Nº 11.645, de 10 de Março de 2008, que regulamenta o ensino da cultura e história indígena e afrodescendente nas escolas do ensino básico, este trabalho busca promover a pesquisa, o conhecimento e a leitura e escrita das narrativas indígenas Potiguara da Paraíba, com alunos da Educação de Jovens e Adultos – EJA, da Escola Estadual Indígena Isaura Soares de Lima, localizada na aldeia Jacaré de César. Este trabalho está fundamentado nas considerações teóricas encontradas em Cardoso e Guimarães (2012), Cascudo (2006), Brandão (1993), e como apoio metodológico para o trabalho em sala de aula Cosson (2014) entre outros. A realização deste trabalho, além de ter colaborado para o conhecimento da história, cultura e literatura de tradição oral do povo potiguara, pôde ainda desenvolver a leitura e a escrita com as atividades executadas.
