El presente artículo analiza la única adaptación conservada de Rinconete y Cortadillo(Novelas ejemplares, 1613), dirigida por Miguel Picazo para Televisión Española en 1971. Además de los vínculos con el texto barroco, se abordan aquí sus trazos metaficcionales, la peculiar transposición del discurso del narrador, la actualización del mensaje cervantino y sus problemas con la censura del tardofranquismo

This paper analyzes the only surviving adaptation of Rinconete y Cortadillo(1613), shot by Miguel Picazo for TVE in 1971. In addition to the links between the medium length film by the Andalusian filmmaker and the third one of the Exemplary Novels, I will tackle the metafictional features of his rewrite,the peculiar transposition of the narrator’s speech, the updating of the cervantine message and the problems with censorship that this Hora 11episode faced within the context of late Francoism
