    This article proposes to articulate the contributions of the historian Reinhart Koselleck through the history of concepts, aiming to help in the understanding of rural tourism as a social phenomenon, especially the segment of the tourist market entitled rural tourism and some of its "branches" and/or sub-segments. For this purpose, a bibliographic analysis and thesearch for secondary data in relevant research and regulation institutions of the activity were carried out, providing an in-depth look at the various dimensions that concern the conceptual formation of the subject addressed. We examined the urban-rural counterpoint and the search for the tourist experience in rural environments in order to understand the ideology around the concepts of rural tourism and other related terms. The purpose of this study was not to find a definition that would end the conceptions about tourism activities in rural areas, but to deconstruct the central ideas that involve the concept of rural tourism from the concrete, contextual, thematic and theoretical use of the words which form it.

    Este artigo propõe articular as contribuições do historiador Reinhart Koselleck quanto à história dos conceitos, visando auxiliar no entendimento do turismo no espaço rural enquanto fenómeno social, especialmente o segmento do mercado turístico intitulado de turismo rural e algunas de suas “ramificações” e/ou subsegmentações. Para tal objetivo, realizou-se uma análise bibliográfica e a busca de dados secundários em relevantes instituições de pesquisa e de regulamentação da atividade, fornecendo um olhar aprofundado nas diversas dimensões que dizem respeito à formação conceitual do assunto tratado. Examinou-se o contraponto urbano-rural e a procura da experiencia turística nos ambientes rurais, para então compreender o ideario em torno dos conceitos de turismo rural e outros termos correlatos. Não foi o intuito deste trabalho encontrar uma definição que encerrasse as concepções acerca das atividades turísticas em áreas rurais, e sim desconstruir as ideias centrais que envolvem o conceito de turismo rural a partir do emprego concreto, contextual, temático e teórico das palavras que o formam.
