La Universidad Complutense fue un centro de estudios novedoso desde su origen a principios del s. XVI. Ambientada en ese espíritu humanista que llegaba de Europa de la mano de Erasmo de Róterdam. El proyecto universitario que quiere el Cardenal Cisneros es para renovar la Teología Escolástica que imperaba en las aulas españolas. Dándole así una visión más universal, buscando siempre la formación de hombres nuevos a la luz del Evangelio.

The Complutense university was an innovative study center since it was created, at the beginning of the 16th century. It was set with the humanistic spirit that came from Europe at the hand of Erasmus of Rotterdam. The university project that Cardinal Cisneros wanted was to renew the Scholastic Theology which prevailed in Spanish classrooms. Giving it a more universal vision, always seeking the formation of new men in the light of the Gospel.
