Resumen de Dinámicas espaciales de la guerra interna en las áreas urbanas del Caribe colombiano

  Según el DANE, el 72% de la población en la región Caribe se encuentra concentrada en 10 ciudades (Barranquilla, Cartagena de Indias, Soledad, Santa Marta, Valledupar, Montería, Sincelejo, Riohacha, Malambo y Maicao), las cuales representan tan solo el 6% del territorio de toda la región. Teniendo en cuenta esto, y que las tendencias políticas de la región en las pasadas elecciones presidenciales se orientaron hacia la opción que representaba la paz, la de Juan Manuel Santos, se deduce que existe una dinámica de guerra interna particular en esa región que influye la elección de la población hacia determinadas opciones políticas. Lo anterior, cobra mayor importancia si se tiene en cuenta la posición geográfica de estas zonas, aquello que, a su vez, redunda en el interés de los grupos armados ilegales en los municipios urbanos de dicho territorio, representando un desafío para el Estado. Considerando dicho supuesto, el presente artículo pretende determinar la dinámica espacial de la guerra interna en los municipios urbanos de la región del Caribe. Para ello toma como unidad de análisis los departamentos donde se encuentran contenidos estas zonas y hace una revisión documental de su situación.

  According to National Administrative Department of Statistics, 72% of the population in the Caribbean region is concentrated in 10 cities, representing only 6% of the territory of the whole region. Given this, and electoral trends in these areas in the last presidential elections (to the option representing peace), it follows that there is a particularly dynamic internal war in urban municipalities in the region. This becomes more important when taking into account the geographical position of these areas, which, in turn, is in the interests of illegal armed groups, and from there can access networks and the international illegal economy. This situation is of great importance and discussion in both domestic and international connections between illegal would set not only the Caribbean region, but also the country within a dynamic global war, thereby blurring formal aspects of the activities of the institutions responsible for security, trade, foreign and domestic policy, including the country. Considering the above, and to decide the nature of the urban areas of the Caribbean region, this article aims to determine the spatial dynamics of the internal war in urban municipalities that territory. Therefore, in this paper a theoretical framework, the type of study (descriptive) and used method (analysis of documentation), the results and conclusions of the investigation exposed.
