  • Resumen
    • Focusing on the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2565, adopted on February 26th 2021, this paper aims firstly at investigating the role played (till now) by the Security Council in the international governance of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Against this background, the essay also intends to highlight the contribution that the resolution seems to provide to the (on-going doctrinal) debate on the responses recently elaborated by the Security Council with respect to the so called “atypical threats” (or “global threats”) to international peace and security, examining – in this perspective – the content of the 2565 resolution’s text in relation to the powers and functions recognised to the Council by the United Nations Charter.
