    Mauricio Hardie Beuchot Puente (Coahuila, México, 1950) es sacerdote dominico, filósofo, historiador de las ideas, filólogo, traductor, pedagogo, editor y poeta. Es uno de los máximos exponentes del panorama filosófico mexicano e iberoamericano, y principal impulsor de la denominada hermenéutica analógica, proyecto de cuño barroco que amalgama inspiraciones teóricas universales y locales, clásicas y contemporáneas en una nueva síntesis de pretensión sistemática e intención práctica. Su prolífica obra va de El problema de los universales (1981) a Interpretación del ser humano. Un ensayo de antropología filosófica (2019). Esta entrevista acredita que, con sus esfuerzos teóricos, Mauricio Beuchot –intelectual críticamente arraigado en las tradiciones del personalismo neotomista y el humanismo social liberal– acomete la empresa de despejar una vía para el diálogo filosófico Norte-Sur y Sur-Sur que trasponga, tanto en el mundo de las ideas como en el campo práctico, los límites aporéticos que suscitan la inconmensurabilidad cultural y el relativismo nihilista en el horizonte epocal del presente. La hermenéutica analógica, arte y ciencia del análisis de textos –y de la acción comprendida como texto–, proporciona un modelo de interpretación y aplicación empeñado en resolver el dilema bifronte que asedia al pensamiento contemporáneo bajo el doble influjo del subjetivismo y el objetivismo, y por el cual sucumbiera ante dos extremos: el relativista y el cientificista. En estos términos elabora un planteo que adopta, conforme a una política de la interpretación sustentada en el ideal ético-político de la phrónesis, una posición mediadora que morigere las tensiones sin nivelarlas ni abolirlas. Por esta vía de prudencia proporcional, la hermenéutica analógica se apropia de la rigurosidad lógica de la corriente analítica a la vez que retiene la pluralidad semántica de la teoría de la posmodernidad. Sustrayéndose a la tentación de clausurar el paradigma realista de la ontología, ha sido capaz de construir un programa filosófico latinoamericanista e intercultural cuyo cometido estriba en aceptar que, si bien no se puede alcanzar la objetividad completa en el conocimiento, por lo menos puede procurársela sin rechazo de la equivocidad, constituyendo el significado desde la diferencia por sobre la identidad. El entramado dialéctico abierto –no exento de cierto hálito trágico–desplegado minuciosamente por la hermenéutica analógica –renovando las fuentes de la filosofía antigua y medieval– apunta a una clarificación experiencial de la eticidad que comprende los fundamentos de sentido de todas las dimensiones de la actividad humana.

    Mauricio Hardie Beuchot Puente (Coahuila, México, 1950) is a Dominican priest, philosopher, historian of ideas, philologist, translator, pedagogue, editor and poet. He is one of the greatest exponents of the Mexican and Ibero-American philosophical panorama, and the main promoter of the so-called Analogical Hermeneutics, a baroque project that amalgamates universal and local, classical and contemporary theoretical inspirations in a new synthesis of systematic claim and practical intention. His prolific work ranges from The Problem of Universals (1981) to Interpretation of the Human Being. An Essay in Philosophical Anthropology (2019). This interview proves that with his theoretical efforts, Mauricio Beuchot –an intellectual critically rooted in the traditions of neo-Thomist personalism and liberal social humanism– undertakes the task of clearing a path for North-South and SouthSouth philosophical dialogue that transposes, both in the world of ideas as in the practical field, the aporetic limits that provoke cultural incommensurability and nihilistic relativism in the epochal horizon of the present. Analogical Hermeneutics, art and science of text analysis –and of action understood as text–, provides a model of interpretation and application committed to resolving the two-sided dilemma that plagues contemporary thought under the double influence of subjectivism and objectivism, and for which he succumbed to two extremes: the relativist and the scientist. In these terms, it elaborates an approach that adopts, in accordance with a policy of interpretation based on the ethical-political ideal of phronesis, a mediating position that moderates tensions without leveling or abolishing them. Through this path of proportional prudence, Analogical Hermeneutics appropriates the logical rigor of the analytic current while retaining the semantic plurality of postmodern theory.
