The dramatic situation in Ukraine following the aggression of the Russian Federation which was followed by the withdrawal of the same State from the Council of Europe to which it was a member since 1996, leads us to reflect on the ups and downs that characterized the admission of the Russian Federation to the aforementioned Organization, the development of the relations of that State with the Organization, especially in terms of the European Convention on Human Rights and therefore on the execution of the judgments of the Court against it, and ultimately the loss of member status from the Council of Europe.
