  • The social agenda has become the main pillar of the European response to the economic crisis resulting from the pandemic, as evidenced by some important initiatives, analyzed in this article, including the implementation of the temporary Support to mitigate Unemployment Risks in an Emergency (SURE), the EU Commission’s proposal for a Directive on adequate minimum wages in the EU and, finally, the European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan, welcomed at the Porto Summit, discussed at the 7 and 8 of May 2021.
