  El cáncer de cabeza y cuello está conformado por un grupo heterogéneo de tumores que afectan a la esfera ORL. Derivado de ello, los profesionales sanitarios implicados en sus procesos deben de conocer y valorar las intervenciones nutricionales y déficits que pueden presentar.

  La vía oral será la de elección siempre que esté disponible y si no es el caso se utilizará la nutrición enteral o parenteral con el fin de mantener el suficiente aporte nutricional del paciente.

  Las recomendaciones específicas para estos pacientes a nivel dietético variarán según la fase en la que se encuentren y el estado previo a nivel nutricional que presentan.

  Head and neck cancer is made up of a heterogeneous group of tumors that affect the ENT sphere. As a result, the healthcare professionals involved in their processes must be aware of and assess the nutritional interventions and deficits that may be present.

  The oral route will be the route of choice whenever available, and if this is not the case, enteral or parenteral nutrition will be used in order to maintain sufficient nutritional intake for the patient.

  The specific dietary recommendations for these patients will vary according to their stage of development and previous nutritional status.
