    Uno de los tumores que se dan más frecuentes es el cáncer de vejiga que tiene una incidencia superior en la población masculina que en la femenina aproximadamente de tres a cuatro veces más en el hombre que en la mujer. La aparición media por edad se encuentra en el rango de 65-75 años La resección transuretral de la vejiga o RTU vesical es el procedimiento de urología que se usa principalmente para tratar el tumor vesical.

    Una resección transuretral de vejiga se les realiza a los pacientes que se sospecha que puede haber un tumor de vejiga, haciendo biopsias para asegurarnos que el tratamiento está siendo efectivo o si hay evidencia de un tumor de vejiga de alto grado.
