  • Resumen
    • The benthic foraminiferal assemblage of the south central portion of the Lagoon of Venice has been analyzed, using Q-mode cluster analysis, to reveal the extent of ecologically similar environments represented by the geographic extent of the biotopes. The assemblages appear to be affected by natural changes in the lagoon hydrology and by man-induced environmental stress conditions. The relative importance of the various species in defining the biotopes was assessed from a number of sub-assemblages, obtained with successive reduction of the data.

Taxonomic notes on some species, as well as the description of a new taxa, have been included.
