    El presente trabajo analiza la herencia de propiedades en el contexto de las redes semánticas como formalismo representacional del razonamiento no-monótono. En particular, se discuten las diferentes variaciones de la noción de herencia: (a) herencia simple con enlaces positivos, (b) herencia simple con enlaces positivos y negativos y (c) herencia múltiple con enlaces positivos y negativos. Asimismo, se aborda la herencia de propiedades desde una perspectiva epistemológica, y se evalúan las estrategias para utilizar este mecanismo como una forma de deducción en las redes semánticas no-monotónicas. Finalmente, se propone la tesis según la cual la dilucidación de los fundamentos de la noción de herencia de propiedades es clave para abordar problemas más complejos dentro del razonamiento no-monotóno.

    Our work analyses the inheritance of properties in the context of semantic networks as a representational framework for non-monotonic reasoning. In particular, we discuss the various nuances of the notion of inheritance: (a) simple inheritance with positive links, (b) simple inheritance with positive and negative links and, (c) multiple inheritance with positive and negative links. Likewise, inheritance of properties is approached from an epistemological perspective, and we assess the strategies of employing this mechanism as a form of deduction in non-monotonic semantic networks. Finally, we propose the thesis that the elucidation of the foundations of the notion of inheritance of properties is crucial for the understanding of more complex problems within non-monotonic reasoning.
