Resumen de Bienes poúblicos globales y seguridad alimentaria

Adriana Fillol Mazo

  • Food security is a legal and moral value to be protected by all States, since without enough food or not food at all no one can develop their physical and mental potential in full in a dignified way, which can end up in the worst case in the death of the person.

Recent literature has widely recognized various global public goods, such as health, environment, cultural heritage, or international peace and security. However, a small part of the doctrine considers that food security has the character of a global public good.

The main objective of this work is to justify and argue why it is possible to consider food security as a global public good and to analyze the consequences that would derive from it. The specific objective is to study the concept of the global public good and its relationship with food security.
