• Resumen

  • The cytheracean ostracod family Cytheruridae from the Antarctic, sub-Antarctic, Falkland Islands, Tierra del Fuego, the Magellan Straits and the coast of Southern South America is reviewed. The family is represented by 34 species belonging to the following 8 genera: Cytherura Sars, Hemicytherura Elofson, Semicytherura Wagner, Cytheropteron Sars, Oculocytheropteron Bate, Pelecocythere Athrsuch, Loxoreticulatum Benson and Paracytheridea Müller. Of the 34 species, 14 are new and 7 are left in open nomenclature.
