This chapter focuses on the 'Spiritual Landscapes' research project in Spain, which studies the spaces of spirituality in the Middle Ages. The public participation activities that form part of the project are outlined. These activities are linked to tourism in general (religious tourism in particular), with the aim of facilitating a dialogue with the general public concerning the past and present that is fruitful in terms of increasing an awareness of heritage and the importance of its preservation.
