At 120 years since the publication of A. E. von Reuss paper: “Die Foraminiferen und Ostracoden der Kreide am Kanara-See bei Künstendsche” (1985), the author is aiming at a detailed study of the Senonian white chalk foraminiferal fauna of the Southern Dobrogea (the classical point described by Reuss included). The first part presents the planktonic foraminifera, poor enough both in number of species and specimens, but on their basis correctly conclude the chronostratigraphyc age of the respective deposits (Middle Santonian-Lower Campanian and Upper Campanian, only at West Medgidia-Remus Oprenanu). Biozones with Dicarinella asymetrica, Globotruncanita elevata and Globotrucana ventricosa (in part) were biostratigraphically recognized.
