India
Discocyclina ramaraoi described as a new species by Samanta in 1967 from the Discocyclinid limestone-Upper Marlstone of Pondichery formation (Upper Paleocene-Lower Eocene) of South India is compared with Discocyclina boetonensis (van der Vlerk) reported earlier by Setty (1964) and the trigonal Discocyclina sp. (Setty 1968). As D. ramaraoi Samanta n. sp. 1967 is conspecific with and only a junior synonym of D. boetonensis, it is suppressed on the basis of Law of Priority.
