Resumen de El problema de la libertad liberal: Una enmienda a rawls desde spinoza

El objetivo de este artículo es tratar de ofrecer una respuesta desde una reinterpretación de la filosofía política de Baruch Spinoza a los problemas que la teoría rawlsiana sobre la libertad apareja sin renunciar, no obstante, a los puntos fuertes de la misma. Estos problemas podemos identificarlos si combinamos las críticas tanto comunitaristas como republicanas cívicas a Rawls: su teoría de lo que constituye la libertad es demasiado estrecha al no tener en cuenta las condiciones sociales y culturales en las que las personas se forman como sujetos humanos. Al mismo tiempo no podemos obviar la contrarréplica liberal a la crítica comunitarista: no se puede imponer un modo de vida determinado a la gente bajo la presunción de que ese es el mejor modo de vida posible. Se debe de dejar que cada uno decida, por sí mismo, cuál es la forma de vida que mayor felicidad le vaya a reportar.

The objective of this article is to try to offer a response from a reinterpretation of Baruch Spinoza's political philosophy to the problems that the Rawlsian theory of freedom rig without, however, renouncing its strong points. These problems can be identified if we combine both the communitarian and republican critiques of Rawls:
his theory of what constitutes freedom is too narrow in not taking into account the social and cultural conditions in which people are formed as human subjects. At the same time, we cannot ignore the liberal counter-reply to the communitarian critique:
a certain way of life cannot be imposed on people under the presumption that this is the best possible way of life. It should be left to each one to decide, for himself, which is the way of life that will bring him the greatest happiness.
