Resumen de Breve revisión bibliográfica sobre el aprendizaje de lenguas extranjeras en el alumnado con discapacidad visual

  El interés por el alumnado con discapacidad visual y sus dificultades en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de las lenguas extranjeras han sido el motor del presente estudio, en el que se realiza una revisión bibliográfica de las investigaciones llevadas a cabo sobre el tema, desde las primeras publicaciones hasta la actualidad, abarcando casi un siglo. Frente a la unanimidad de resultados en los análisis sobre el aprendizaje de la lengua materna, que no muestran diferencias entre el alumnado con y sin discapacidad visual, estas sí surgen cuando se trata del aprendizaje de una lengua extranjera, en el que la metodología, estrategias y materiales (adaptación y creación) han ido variando con el paso del tiempo, igual que las demandas de profesorado y alumnado, a lo que hay que sumar la irrupción de las nuevas tecnologías en el sistema educativo, un recurso al servicio de docentes y discentes cuyo conocimiento y manejo ayudan en el proceso, siempre y cuando estos recursos sean adecuados y accesibles.

  Interest in visually impaired students and the difficulties they face in the teaching and learning of foreign languages has been the driving force behind the present study, in which a bibliographical review of the research carried out on the subject is presented from the first publications to the present day, spanning almost a century. In contrast to the unanimity of results in analyses of mother tongue learning, which show no differences between pupils with and without visual impairment, such differences do arise in foreign language learning, where the methodology, strategies and materials (adaptation and creation) have changed over time, as have the demands of teachers and students. Consideration must also be given to the irruption of new technologies in the educational system, a resource at the service of teachers and students whose knowledge and use help in the process provided that these resources are appropriate and accessible.
