El estudio de la obra del compositor alicantino Rafael Rodríguez Albert nos permite descubrir diferentes cuestiones estéticas importantes y trascendentales para la comprensión de su lenguaje compositivo. Un lenguaje que no será ajeno a las corrientes de principio del siglo XX. Las imágenes que la música evoca serán en este artículo el punto de partida de este artículo que manifiesta la diferencia entre evocar y describir. Un artículo que nos muestra una parcela importantísima del mundo interior musical del compositor alicantino, así como la perspectiva común de estas cuestiones que son propias a otros músicos coetáneos a Rafael Rodríguez Albert.

The analysis of the work of the composer Rafael Rodríguez Albert, from Alicante, in Southern Spain, allows for the exploration of various vital and even transcendental aesthetic issues in order to understand his compositional language, a language that is not foreign to the currents of early 20th century music. The images that his music evokes will comprise the starting point of this article, which will demonstrate the difference between evocative and descriptive composition. The present article thus hopes to reveal a crucial portion of the Alicantino composer’s inner musical world as well as present the broader perspective from which the issues dealt with here have influenced Rodríguez Albert’s contemporaries.
