Resumen de Sobrenaturais metamorfoses na literatura: o fantástico em “Açude”, de Roberto Beltrão

This article aims to analyze the short story "Açude", present in the work Na escuridão das brenhas, by Roberto Beltrão, in the light of metamorphosis and the fantastic. Through a theoretical framework that allows us to perceive the different visions of these categories in literary studies, such as the assumptions of Irene Bessière and David Roas, regarding the fantastic, and the reflections of Vera Maria Tietzmann Silva, regarding metamorphosis, it was possible to validate the aesthetic effectiveness in the investigation of the chosen corpus. Conditioned by social and historical frameworks, the narrative is set in the Sertão of Pernambuco, more precisely in the city of Triunfo, marked by cultural traits that shape the knowledge and human imagination, seen through folkloric prisms, legends, and oral tradition. Shadowed by the dichotomy between the natural and the supernatural, the author's text amalgamates a metamorphic process, with the legend of the transformation of a baby into a hideous and giant snake, motivating the transgression of the perceptions of normality. As zoomorphisms are mobilized, the nature of the fantastic is reiterated in destabilizing the vision of the real, both of the character and the reader, in a world simile to reality, which threatens the coordinates that give security to the everyday life and flow to rationality.

Este artigo objetiva analisar o conto “Açude”, presente na obra Na escuridão das brenhas, do escritor Roberto Beltrão, à luz da metamorfose e do fantástico. Por meio de um arcabouço teórico que oportuniza perceber as diferentes visões dessas categorias nos estudos literários, como os pressupostos de Irène Bessière e David Roas, no que tange o fantástico, e as reflexões de Vera Maria Tietzmann Silva, a respeito da metamorfose, foi possível validar a eficácia estética na investigação do corpus escolhido. Condicionada por enquadramentos sociais e históricos, a narrativa é ambientada no Sertão pernambucano, mais precisamente na cidade de Triunfo, afigurada pelos traços culturais que moldam os saberes e o imaginário humano, antevistos sob prismas folclóricos, lendários e da tradição oral. Sombreado pela dicotomia entre o natural e o sobrenatural, o texto do autor amalgama um processo metamórfico, com a lenda da transformação de um bebê em uma cobra horrenda e gigante, motivando a transgressão das percepções de normalidade. Ao passo que se mobilizam zoomorfismos, reitera-se a natureza do fantástico em desestabilizar a visão do real, tanto da personagem quanto do leitor, em um mundo símile à realidade, que ameaça as coordenadas que dão segurança ao cotidiano e vazão à racionalidade.
