  Dados de avaliações nacionais e internacionais mostram a dificuldade que os alunos têm com a Matemática. Este artigo traz o resultado de uma pesquisa que investigou a visão dos alunos da Educação Básica sobre a Matemática e o que os influencia a ter esta visão. Um questionário para investigar esta visão foi elaborado e aplicado aos alunos. Como resultados, a maioria dos alunos afirmou ouvir que a Matemática é difícil e, por este motivo, ficam apreensivos antes das aulas de Matemática. A maioria indicou gostar da matéria, relatando que a metodologia do professor de Matemática, a aplicação do conteúdo e as notas na matéria influenciam nesta visão. Os que indicaram não gostar, explicam tal fato pela dificuldade da matéria, que é muito abstrata, além de não entenderem a explicação do professor. Observou-se também que a família, o professor e o interesse individual influenciam visão que os alunos têm da Matemática.

  Data from national and international assessments show the difficulty that students have with Mathematics. This article brings the result of a research that investigated the students' view of Mathematics and what influences them to have this view. A questionnaire to investigate this view was developed and applied to Basic Education students. As a result, most students said that they heard that Mathematics is difficult and, for this reason, they are apprehensive before Mathematics classes. Most related that they liked the subject, indicating that the mathematics teacher's methodology, the application of the content and the grades in the subject influence this view. Those who did not like it explained this by the difficulty of the subject, which is very abstract, in addition to not understanding the teacher's explanation. It was observed, also, that the family, the teacher and individual interest influence in the students' view of Mathematics.
