Four species of genus Globigerinelloides have been recovered, described and illustrated by (SEM) from the Campanian-Maastrichtian subsurface deposits of the Prikaspian Depression, USSR.
Ontogenetically, the biapertural-uniserial and biserial-forms of Biglobigerinella have shown that the bipartite primary apertures are commonly restricted to the ultimate chamber and rarely to the penultimate chamber in the studied species. The term “biglobigerinella terminal stage” has been introduced to explain the development of the biapertural-uniserial or biserial features which are considered as specific character rather than generic features. An emended description of the genus is given.
