Obstáculos sociales y enriquecimiento a la creatividad de la mujer: una posible conexión

    Los estereotipos de género todavía están presentes en la sociedad y suelen privilegiar determinados grupos. Prejuicios, discriminación, normas sexistas, sobrecarga, baja valoración son algunos de los obstáculos que la mujer debe hacer frente desde edad temprana y que le afecta especialmente en la etapa profesional. Aunque tengan la misma potencialidad creativa que los hombres, hay menos mujeres creadoras eminentes en los más diversos dominios. En ese ensayo teórico, se analizan biografías e investigaciones sobre aquellas que fueron reconocidas por sus contribuciones creativas en dominios socialmente valorados. Se plantea que la superación de los obstáculos de género puede haber favorecido su motivación, determinación, no convencionalidad, además de añadir recursos diversificados para las ideas creativas. Entretanto, el camino para lograr la equidad de género en el reconocimiento creativo y la justicia social no debe involucrar enseñar a las mujeres a beneficiarse de la superación de las barreras, sino más bien derribarlas. Considerando la creatividad en una perspectiva sistémica, es necesario cambiar los dominios y los ámbitos. Habrá más mujeres reconocidas como creativas cuando logremos romper estereotipos de género, favoreciendo la apertura de los dominios y la imparcialidad de los ámbitos

    Gender stereotypes are still present in society and tend to privilege certain groups. Prejudice, discrimination, sexist norms, pressure, low valuation are some of the obstacles that women must face since an early age and affect them in the professional stage. Although they have the same creative potential as men, there are fewer eminent female creators in most diverse domains. In this theoretical essay, we analyzed biographies and investigations about those who were recognized for their creative contributions in socially valued domains. It is argued that overcoming gender barriers may have favored their motivation, determination, non-conventionality, as well as adding diversified resources for creative ideas. Nevertheless, the path to gender equity in creative recognition and social justice must not involve teaching women to benefit from overcoming barriers, but rather tearing them down. Considering creativity in a systemic perspective, it is necessary to change domains and fields. There will be more women recognized as creative when we manage to break gender stereotypes, favoring the openness of the domains and the impartiality of the fields.
